Asteroid Apophis: closest large flyby in 200 years, April 2029
In 1,000 days, on April 13, 2029, near-Earth asteroid Apophis will pass closer to Earth than some geostationary satellites—the closest confirmed approach of a large asteroid in two centuries.
At roughly 340 meters across, it will be visible to the naked eye across Europe, Africa, and Asia during its 30-minute closest passage.
